Engagement Shoot at Casa Habita

I was excited to do this shoot from the moment we began to plan it. Already engaged, Vanya and Miguel contacted me for a couple’s session before their wedding. After talking to them, I booked Casa Habita in Guadalajara, Mexico, an exquisite boutique hotel. I knew this would be the best place to capture them and their love. Eagerly waiting for their marriage ceremony next year, I was happy to work with them beforehand on such a lovely project.

The relationship I built with Vanya and Miguel is what I strive for with each and every one of my clients. We talked on the phone before meeting each other and instantly connected. I met them minutes before I began to shoot, and thanks to our positivity, openness, and trusting attitudes we bonded in an honest way. For the pictures, they brought their own props and outfits but asked for my help to do the styling. Creatively, this worked well for us because the photos reflected our joined work and most importantly… who they really are.

Casa Habita truly ended up being the ideal location for an engagement shoot. The hotel’s style and decoration is a sophisticated curatorial work. We were lucky to be able to shoot in various of their rooms and lounge areas making the results diverse and eclectic photos.

By the end of our time together, we had such a great connection that I invited them to a gallery opening nearby. Given they are from out of town, they were looking for things to do in Guadalajara. Looking back at the photos, I am still amazed by the loving and caring relationship they hold. The realness of their unity can be seen in the moments that we encapsulated that day. For now… I’m eagerly waiting to shoot them again at their wedding.
